| Run-Bike-Run Workouts FAQ |
In an effort to have a club-wide training event, the RATS conduct weekly Run-Bike-Run workouts every Tuesday evening throughout the summer. These are low key activities where multi-sport athletes come to workout in a group setting. A variety of distances are offered satisfying both the novice and ironman alike.
The RATs Run-Bike-Run (RBR’s) workouts are held every Tuesday during the summer. This year, the season runs from April 29th to September 3rd.
We meet at the Webster Park at the corner of Lake and Holt roads. To get to Webster Park, take route 104, exit at Holt road and continue north to Lake Road. Park in the lot on the right.
The starting time for the workouts will once again be 6:30. Please allow enough time to get your bike ready beforehand.
What events are held? Each week three workouts are offered:
- Short RBR - 2.2 mile run, 11 mile bike, 2.2 mile run
- Long RBR - 5K run, 30K bike, 5K run
- 40k Bike time trial
Each week we also ask two or three people to volunteer to help with recording times and helping with safely at the bike turn around. All participants are asked to volunteer for one week. You can volunteer when you sign in at a workout, good weeks go quickly so sign up early.
For insurance purposes, all participants must be members of RATS. You can join now by sending the application from the web site or you can join at the RBR. Non-members may try it once by signing a waiver and paying a $5 fee which will be credited toward membership if they decide to join.

Yes and no. Depending on the week we usually get between 20 and 50 participants. Obviously with this number there will always be someone at every speed. Some are training hard while others are just in it for the workout. The main goal is to have a friendly workout, and that mentality usually carries the day.
Greater Rochester Family and Sports Chiropractic returns as the sponsor for the workouts. Look for weekly results in the D&C sport section on Wednesday mornings.
Important details: helmets are mandatory, and drafting is illegal – we’re training for triathlon, not the Tour de France!
